Being inquisitive and wanting to know how the wordpress database schema is build i started exploring it through phpMyAdmin. When i opened the wp_posts table i was shocked. Since this is a new blog i was expecting around 10 rows in the table – there were 151 rows. Then i went through the structure of the table to find that wordpress stores a lot of post-revisions (instances of the posts are saved when you update, save draft or preview), drafts and deleted posts in addition to the published posts.
